Enter the fairgrounds from Armstrong Rd immediately off of Hwy 207.
All hams and perspective hams are welcome to participate.
Setup should be underway by 9am Saturday. Operations will begin at 12pm or shortly after and continue for 24 hours after the first contact. Tear down will begin shortly after noon.

Linda, KN4KJC and I will be operating an Expedition Station this Saturday, April 24th in the Florida QSO Party. The station will be located near Ocean Pond in the Osceola National Forest (near US90/SR10 and I-10). We would like to offer other SAARS members a chance to participate.
An Expedition Station is a vehicle-based operation with large antennas attached to it. In this case the antennas are a Hy Power 40m OCF and a 15m delta loop, both probably at about 70 feet of height.
Importantly and unusually, this station will straddle two county lines, making each SSB QSO worth double points. There are no other SSB stations planned to be in the counties Saturday, so we may be the only game in town for operators chasing a Florida county sweep.

Florida State Parks on the Air is set for April 3-4 at Anastasia State Park near St Augustine Beach. Bob Sileo and I invite you to a special club meeting and planning session Tuesday evening (March 30) at 7 pm via ZOOM. As this is so close to our regular meeting date, that one will be canceled and replaced by this meeting.

Yes, there has been a slight change to the look of our web site. The third party theme we were using was obsoleted a few years ago and I’ve been dreading the time when it would develop problems. It did this week. I discovered it tonight (Friday), but apparently it has been having its problems for a few days. I have switched to a theme that is published with Word Press, our site software, and is actively developed by them. Hopefully this theme will be supported for a nice long time.

Winter Field Day 2021 is less than two weeks away!
SAARS members, please check your email for an event message. It contains a survey link that we ask you to complete and submit if you are attending the event. This information will assist our planning.
The Park Manager has kindly agreed to waive the entrance fee to the park for those attending this event. When you enter at the Ranger Station you will need to show your SAARS membership badge and mention that you are attending the Winter Field Day event.
COVID-19 notice: Since we are still in the pandemic we ask that all attendees wear a mask in situations where appropriate distancing is not possible. We will have hand sanitizer, wipes and extra masks available on-site for use throughout the day.
