St. Augustine Amateur Radio Society

The St Augustine Amateur Radio Society will meet  Wednesday June 5th at 6:30 PM. The meeting location will be the St. Augustine Airport Conference Center, 4730 Casa Cola Way, St. Augustine. (map).

Our guest speaker for the June meeting will be Alan Alsobrook, KD4QOF

NOTE: Due to the recent challenges in securing a meeting venue we are moving the June 2024 meeting from Tuesday to Wednesday. While we do not intend for this to be a permanent change, future meeting nights will be determined as a venue is secured.

We will be having an outreach event at the St Augustine Amphitheater Farmers Market 8:30 am to 12:30 pm further details via email and on the net.

The St Augustine Amateur Radio Society will meet  Tuesday May 7th at 6:30 PM. The meeting location will be at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center, 1300 Duval St, St. Augustine, FL 32084 (map).

The program will be on satellite operations by Mike Randazzo, KO4PDI.

Saturday, the 27th is the last Saturday of the month when we do a Breakfast Social.  This Saturday we will be at  “The Spot” which is located 4508 US 1 St. Augustine near the airport.  (MAP) The Spot opens at 7:30 which is also our normal time to gather for breakfast.

The St Augustine Amateur Radio Society will meet  Tuesday April 2nd at 6:30 PM via Google Meet. Please see Bob’s email for meeting information.

We will start with a brief business meeting and planning for Florida Parks on the Air, followed by our guest speaker at approximately 7 pm ET.

This month’s meeting will feature a presentation on the upcoming Solar Eclipse QSO Party, to be given by Gary Hogsten, AB4GH, of the HamSCI.org group.

The event will be held on March 9th, 2024, From 9 am-4:30 pm
Tables inside 2 will be available for $30 cash and you can enter as early as 6 am.
Parking spaces are limited outside but you can get one to sell for $20. Setup at 6 am.
Admission will be $20 Cash only.
The bar will be available for an extra cost. There will also be food offered by the Elks for an additional fee.
There will be door prizes and some lectures

In anticipation of the upcoming total solar eclipse, we are excited to host Paul Jones, Vice President, Ancient City Astronomy Club (ACAC), as our guest speaker for the March Meeting. In addition to information about the eclipse, Paul will tell us more about the ACAC, including what they do, how they do it, and the club’s 50+ year history.
